An Evening with P G Wodehouse
An invitation to the Junior Ganymede Club

11 September 2009 - 7.00pm for 7.30pm

Mr Reginald Jeeves, gentleman's personal gentleman to the inimitable Mr Bertram Wooster, extends on behalf of the Junior Ganymede Club a cordial invitation to join him at a dinner at Bedern Hall. Entertainment will be provided during the evening in the form of selected readings from the legendary Club Book, recounting some of the more humorous incidents, anecdotes and practical pleasantries with which nature has deemed it appropriate to render the life and career of his employer so replete.

Messrs. Jeeves and Wooster will be joined for the evening by members of that fine acting troupe, Ars Ludendi, with dinner provided by Mr Roger, 'Anatole' Lee.

Period hot buffet supper served. Tickets £22. Booking essential.

Wine Tasting in association with The Wine Club

24 September 2009 - 7.00pm for 7.30pm

As part of York Festival of Food & Drink we present an evening of South African wines with Terry Herbert and a special guest speaker. In keeping with the festival theme of Crude Food, the tasting will be followed by a hot buffet of robust autumnal dishes.

Bangers & Beer

To celebrate the approach of Halloween and Bonfire night, we sample some warming ales in the company of Jim Helpsby of York Beer & Wine Shop and then match them up with some brilliant butchers sausages in variety. There might even be some mash on the side!

Tickets £20 per person to include drink on arrival, tasting beers and sausage supper. Beers available to purchase on the night. Booking essential.

Art in the Hall

27, 28 & 29 November 2009

Step out of the bustle of Goodramgate and leave the crowded streets behind to visit Bedern Hall, to experience a new exhibition by Adrienne French and Friends and perhaps pick up an unusual Christmas present. Our café will be open selling seasonal goodies as part of Yuletide York.

The Feast of Christmas

17 December 2009 - 7pm for 7.30pm

For the 4th year running, a reprise of our successful Christmas event. In an evening for anyone curious about the foods we eat during the festive season, we answer your questions with humour and style.
